MBSR / MBCT Courses in Bath and Bristol

Welcome to the Bath and Bristol Mindfulness Meditation (MBSR and MBCT) Courses with Philippa Vick - including the Jon Kabat-Zinn Eight Week Mindfulness Course, Deepening Mindfulness and Mindfulness for Health Professionals courses.

Mindfulness can help us be with physical and emotional stress, chronic pain, anxiety and depression. Not by rejecting our experience but by learning to be present with it in a consciously spacious and kindly way - that is mindfully.

Mindfulness helps us know a stillness in the middle of our busy minds and be less afraid to feel what scares us. It is not a quick fix nor a miracle cure, it does take work on our part, but what it offers is real and lasting, and of benefit to others.

The Bath and Bristol Mindfulness MBSR/MBCT Courses were started by Philippa Vick in 2006. Since then she has been joined by Laurence Milburn, Suzanne Cowderoy and Nigel Wellings who together with her now facilitate the courses. The Bath and Bristol Eight Week Mindfulness Course and other courses particularly emphasise the importance of generousity, kindness, curiosity and humour, knowing that these qualities are of vital importance once we start the journey towards welcoming everything, pleasurable and painful, found within ourselves. Each of the facilitators also bring their own particular qualities drawing on depth psychotherapy and clinical psychology as well as many years involvement with several meditative traditions.
